Six Nations Compete at Adult Triple Crown Tenpin Bowling Tournament 20 September 2024 Six nations will go head-to-head this weekend as Northern Ireland proudly hosts the prestigious Vitality Membership Adult Triple Crown Tenpin Bowling Tournament. The competition will be held from Friday 20th – 22nd September at Dundonald International Ice Bowl. This international competition will see teams from Northern Ireland, England, Gibraltar, Ireland, Scotland and Wales compete for the accolade of the Triple Crown title. Medals will be awarded across several major events, including Singles, Doubles, Trios, Mixed Doubles and Team competitions. Bowlers will earn valuable points across each discipline which will ultimately lead the winning nation to lift the eagerly contested Triple Crown Trophy. Attending the opening ceremony, the Mayor of Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council, Councillor Kurtis Dickson, said, “I am delighted to welcome teams and their supporters from across the six nations to our fantastic facilities here at Dundonald International Ice Bowl. It is very exciting to see the quality of the bowling taking place and I know we are in for a closely contended competition. “I would encourage customers to come along and watch the action at some stage over the weekend. It is a great way to see the nation’s leading bowlers first hand and maybe pick up a few hints along the way.” “I hope all the teams and supporters enjoy the competition and I look forward to meeting everyone over the course of the tournament,” concluded Mayor Dickson. Councillor Jonathan Craig, Chair of the Communities and Wellbeing Committee, said, “It is a great honour to host the Vitality Membership Adult Triple Crown at Dundonald International Ice Bowl. The facility has a proud history of staging prestigious events over the last 38 years so we are very excited to add another major bowling event to our sporting calendar. I would like to thank the Northern Ireland Tenpin Bowling Federation for organising the tournament as I know many months have gone into planning an event of this scale. I would also like to extend thanks to the staff at Dundonald International Ice Bowl for the work behind the scenes in preparation for the tournament.” “I hope the teams enjoy visiting Northern Ireland and the superb leisure facilities we have here in Lisburn and Castlereagh,” added Councillor Craig.
