Public Sessions

Get your skates on and take to the ice for a cool day out! Public sessions are available 7 days per week. Arrive fifteen minutes before your chosen session and pay at reception.

Choose from a range of skate sessions including DJ led entertainment available evenings, weekends and selected holiday periods.

Ice Skating Aids

We offer a range of skating aids. Penguin skating aids are available to children under 1.25 metres in height (with skates), snowmen and polar bears are available to older children and adults. Ride on skating aids are suitable for children under 1 metre in height (wearing skates). Aids will only be issued where there is a parent or guardian providing assistance.

*The number of Skating Aids are limited and will be
allocated on a first come, first served basis. During busier periods, skating aids cannot be guaranteed, and will be reduced to 20/30 minutes use per
person.

Ice Skating Lessons

Dundonald International Ice Bowl has 30 years experience delivering ice skating lessons to many championship skaters, including Jenna McCorkell. The next champion could be you!!

All ice skating courses consist of half hour sessions over a period of 6 weeks with NISA qualified coaches. Courses cater for beginners and help skaters progress from Grade 1 to Grade 8.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is online booking required for all sessions? At present, online booking is advisable for Thursday 16th Friday and weekends going forward commencing from Friday 16th, Saturday 17th & Sunday 18th February.
I’ve made a booking online and need to amend it, what do I do?
Prior to your visit, please contact our reception staff on 028 9080 9100
If I don’t book am I guaranteed entry?
We can only guarantee entry to walk-ins customers if the session is not fully booked. We strongly recommend you book online to avoid this.
I did not receive a booking confirmation, what do I do?
Come along to your session as normal and confirm your email address and telephone number and we can confirm the information matches that held on our system.
Do you offer skate sharpening? Yes, individuals that want to avail of this service can drop their skates in at any stage throughout the day. Skates will be ready for collection within 72 hours and cost £7 per pair. Please note, there will be a temporary pause in our skate sharpening services during peak holidays.
What’s your quietest session? Weekday term time and evening sessions tend to be quieter. Weekend and holiday periods tend to be busier.
Is there a minimum age for ice skating? There is no minimum age for skating, it is up to the discretion of the parent/ guardian. The smallest pair of skates we offer is infant size 5.
What do I need to wear to go skating?
It is advisable to wear something warm and comfortable. We also recommend bringing gloves
Do you accommodate group bookings?
We have discounted rates for all activities at selected times for groups with 15+ people. This rate applies to groups of children and adults.
Do you offer ice skating lessons?
Dundonald International Ice Bowl offers regular six week courses from Grade 1 to Grade 8. Customers who have previous skating experience can be assessed by our team of skating professionals to see what grade they should enrol on.

Tots courses are also available for young children aged 3-4 years
Do I need to book an ice skating session in advance?
Walk-ins are welcome however online booking is advisable to avoid dissapointment. Please note, online booking is applies for both Vitality members and non- Vitality members.
Where do I keep my personal items when skating?
Locker tokens can be purchased from the vending machine in the ice rink. Tokens cost £1 and are for single use only.
What are your height restrictions for skating aids
We offer skating aids to help young children take their first steps on the ice. Penguin skating aids are available for children under the height of 1.2 metres (wearing skates) and snowmen are available for taller children between 1.2 metres and 1.5 metres (wearing skates). Polar bears are suitable for children under 1m (wearing skates)
What size of skates do you offer?
Our ice skates range from children’s size 5 to adult size 13.
Is there parking at the facility? Yes there is a car park located on the premises for the use of all Dundonald International Ice Bowl customers.
